One of the Spanish colonial governing bodies. It is also translated as the Consejo de Indies or the Consejo de Commerce. It was founded in Seville in 1503 with the aim of placing trade with the New World under direct royal control. It was moved to Cadiz in 1717, but until its abolition at the end of the 18th century, it played a central role in supporting Spain's exclusive colonial policy, along with the Council of the Indies, the governing body for administrative and judicial affairs. スペインの植民地統治機関の一つ。インディアス通商院,インディアス商務院とも訳される。新大陸との貿易を王権の直接的な統制下におくことを目的として1503年セビリャに設立された。1717年カディスへ移転されるが,18世紀末に廃止されるまで,行政・司法の統轄機関インディアス枢機会議とともに,スペインによる排他的植民地政策を支える中心的役割を演じた。通商院の権限は1511年,30年の勅令によってほぼその法的基盤が確立されたが,権限と任務は以下のとおり多岐にわたっている。
