...The city area moved from the south bank to the north bank due to changes in the river channel caused by flooding of the Fuefuki River at the end of the Meiji period. After Isawa Station on the Chuo Line was built in 1903, it was a small central city for the surrounding farming villages, but in 1986, a large amount of hot spring water (simple spring water, 45°C) began to gush out near the city center, and it became known as Isawa Onsen Town. It was close to the Keihin area and developed during the period of high economic growth, so it had a strong entertainment district feel, but in recent years, the number of hot spring hospitals and other facilities has increased, and it has also come to have the character of a health resort. ...
