In Greek mythology, the wind gods were Zephyros, the west wind, Boreas, and Notos, the south wind, and Eos and Astraeus, the goddesses of dawn, were their parents. Boreas kidnapped Orethyia, the daughter of the Athenian king Erechtheus, to his home base in Thrace, and gave birth to twin sons, Kalais and Zētēs.
