Knitted items can be broadly divided into hand knitted items and machine knitted items. Hand knitted items are items made using knitting, crochet, afghan needle knitting that utilizes the characteristics of both, and hand knitting machines (domestic knitting machines). Most hand knitted items are shaped knit items that return to their original yarn when unraveled.
