Iino Kichisaburo - Iino Kichisaburo
1867-1944 A monk from the Meiji to Taisho period.
Born in 1867. Lived in Onden, Shibuya, Tokyo, and gathered followers through prayer and prophecy. Trusted by Ito Hirobumi, Kiyoura Keigo, Shimoda Utako and others, he even influenced the Imperial family and was called the Japanese Rasputin, but he was involved in a fraud case in 1925 and fell from grace. Died on February 3, 1944. Age 78. Born in Mino (Gifu Prefecture). Commonly known as the Onden Ascetic.

慶応3年生まれ。東京渋谷穏田(おんでん)にすみ,祈祷(きとう)と予言で信者をあつめる。伊藤博文,清浦奎吾(けいご),下田歌子らに信頼され皇室にも影響をおよぼし,日本のラスプーチンとよばれたが,大正14年詐欺事件に関与し失脚した。昭和19年2月3日死去。78歳。美濃(みの)(岐阜県)出身。通称は穏田の行者。
