It is a type of children's game, and although the content is different from horse riding, it is difficult to distinguish between the two in actual play. In some regions it is called "umatsubushi," "shikaranchi," "shikaasobi," "shikatsunonanbo," or "shakuriuma." "Shikaranchi" is a word that means "a number of deer antlers." This type of game can be broadly categorized into three types. (1) Umajigata: One person pretends to be a horse and plays while riding the person or horse. (2) Kakekoshigata: The other person jumps over the person or horse who bends forward and places his or her hands on his or her knees. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
