A mountain in the north-central part of Kagawa Prefecture, forming the border between Sakaide City and Marugame City. Its shape is conical and it is also called Sanuki Fuji. It is an isolated peak that juts out from the Sanuki Plain, and can be seen from all sides, forming a single point of the Sanuki Plain, which is called a "miniature garden". It is 422 meters above sea level. It is an eroded hill called a butte, with pyroxene andesite resting on the granite base. It is often written about in poems, and Saigyo is said to have written, "In Sanuki, there is not a day without the morning smoke rising from this mountain, which is called Fuji." Many fruit trees such as peaches and grapes are cultivated at the foot of the mountain, and the peach blossom season is beautiful. There is a Yakushido temple on the summit. It belongs to the Setonaikai National Park. The foot of the mountain has recently been developed into a residential area. [Michihiko Inada] View from the south, towards Marugame City.
