Pancreatic cysts

Japanese: 膵囊胞 - すいのうほう（英語表記）pancreatic cysts

A general term for diseases in which a tumor with a lumen appears in the pancreas. From a pathological standpoint, it is divided into true cysts, whose inner walls are covered with epithelium, and pseudocysts, whose inner walls are not covered with epithelium. True cysts include congenital cysts, tumor cysts, retention cysts caused by obstruction of the pancreatic duct due to pancreatic lithiasis or inflammation, and parasitic cysts. Pseudocysts are caused by pancreatic damage after pancreatitis, traffic injuries, or abdominal surgery, and are by far the more common. Symptoms usually include abdominal pain and an abdominal mass, but fever and jaundice can also occur due to complications such as secondary infections.

膵臓に内腔をもった腫瘤ができる疾患の総称。病理学的立場から，囊胞の内壁が上皮でおおわれる真性囊胞と上皮がない仮性囊胞に分けられる。真性囊胞には，先天性囊胞や腫瘍性囊胞，膵石症や炎症などによる膵管の閉塞によって生じた貯留囊胞，寄生虫性囊胞などが含まれる。仮性囊胞は膵炎後や交通外傷，腹部手術後による膵損傷などによって生じるもので，頻度的には仮性囊胞のほうが圧倒的に多い。症状としては，ふつう腹痛や腹部腫瘤がみられるが，2次感染などの合併により発熱や黄疸も生じる。
