Japanese: 深成作用 - しんせいさよう（英語表記）plutonism

This refers to the phenomenon caused by underground magma intruding into various parts of the earth's crust. Along with volcanic activity, it is a type of igneous activity. Rocks formed by plutonic activity are called plutonic rocks. There are many types of plutonic rocks, but the most representative is granite. Granite is a type of plutonic rock that is widely distributed in orogenic belts, and can be found from various eras since the early Archean era. Granite can be exposed on the earth's surface as a huge rock body.

地下のマグマが地殻中のいろいろの場所に貫入してひき起こす現象をいう。火山作用とともに火成作用の一つである。深成作用によってできる岩石を深成岩と呼ぶ。深成岩にはいろいろな種類の岩石があるが，そのなかでも最も代表的なものは花コウ岩である。花コウ岩は主として，造山帯に広く分布する深成岩であり，時代的には始生代の初期以降いろいろな時代のものがみられる。　花コウ岩は巨大な岩体として地表に露出していることがある。
