First performed at the Nakamuraza Theater in Edo in March 1852. This is a joruri piece used in a scene from Suzuki Mondo's play "Sumidagawa vs. Takagamon " in which Mondo's wife goes to ask the prostitute Shiraito to break off their relationship with her husband. [2] Title of a jiuta song. Lyrics by Ibarakiya Yukisai. An old song from before the Kan'en era ( 1748-1751 ). The lyrics start with "itsuwari no" (falsely) and end with "wakarezaka" (parting), so it is also known as "wakarezaka." The title of the song comes from the lyrics "Shiraito no mukaga ga ja (The old days of Shiraito are better)." The content is a lament about how it would be better if the women of the prostitutes were not stained by the colors of love. There are three compositions. A play song with a san-shitari style composed by Kaichi Yamamoto and Toshiro Wakamura. A general song with a ni-agari style. A Handayu song with a honcho style composed by Koto Asamura.

しろ‐いと【白糸】
