...The entire play premiered at the Moritaza Theater in Edo in April 1780, the same year as the puppet premiere. Since then, the seventh act, "Ageya," in which Onobu reunites with Miyagino, has mainly been performed independently. The contrast between the tayu in her prime and the country girl speaking in the Oshu dialect is a successful plot device.
