Cnidaria, Hydrozoa, Vascular Jellyfish, Myocallidae. It is not a single individual, but a colony formed by the aggregation of many individual zoons, with division of labor between them. The body is almost transparent and cucumber-shaped, 15 cm long and 3 cm wide, with the upper half divided into a swimming bell and the lower half into a vegetative part. In the swimming bell part, dozens of swimming bells are stacked in two alternating rows around an orange-yellow trunk with a small pneumatophora at the apex, forming a dodecagonal column. The lower vegetative part is cylindrical and slightly thicker than the swimming bell part, with polygonal protective leaves regularly arranged in eight vertical rows around the trunk. The trunk also contains tentacles, sensilla, and both male and female reproductive organs. The nematocysts in the tentacles are highly toxic. There are two theories about the origin of the Japanese name: one is that it resembles the yoraku ornaments used in Buddhist temples and Buddhist altars, and the other is that it means "swaying" because the swimming bells fall apart when touched. 刺胞動物門ヒドロ虫綱管クラゲ目ヨウラククラゲ科。単一の個体でなく，多数の個虫が集合してできた群体で，個虫間に分業が見られる。体は長さ 15cm，幅 3cmのほぼ透明なキュウリ形で，上半部は泳鐘部，下半部は栄養部に分かれる。泳鐘部では頂端に小さな気胞体をもった橙黄色の幹の周囲に，数十個の泳鐘が左右交互に 2列に重なって十二角柱をつくっている。下方の栄養部は円柱状で，泳鐘部よりやや太く，幹を中心に多角形の保護葉が規則正しく 8縦列に並ぶ。幹にはほかに触手，感触体，雌雄両生殖体が付着している。触手にある刺胞の毒は強い。和名の由来は，仏教寺院や仏壇の飾りに用いられる瓔珞に似ているからという説と，触れると泳鐘がばらばら落ちるので揺落という説がある。日本の黒潮および対馬海流域に分布する。（→刺胞動物，ヒドロ虫類，無脊椎動物）
