〘Noun〙 ("do" means fence) ① (━suru) To be at peace within a fence. By extension, to live in peace on one's land. To be at peace with one's family business. The ministers said, 'Mauanto' (to be granted)." ③ (suru) In the Middle Ages, the shogunate or the feudal lords of the Warring States period would approve the possession of the land of their vassals or retainers. In particular, approval of land inherited from one's parents is called 'main land approval.' ※Azuma Kagami - October 23, 1180 ( Jisho 4): "Sometimes the original land is approved. Sometimes new favors are given ." ※Taiheiki (late 14th century) Part 35: "They were approved for their households, and perhaps they wanted to repay the favor." ④ To take back land that was previously owned by oneself or one's ancestors.
