Chu-xue-ji (English: First Study Record)
A Chinese treatise. Compiled by Xu Jian and others of the Tang dynasty. 30 volumes. Finished in Kaiyuan 15 (727). Compiled by imperial order of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang dynasty. It classifies and arranges ancient and modern poetry and prose sources into 23 parts and 313 items by subject. Originally compiled as a reference for composing poetry and prose, hence the name "Beginner's Study," but it is an important resource because the citations are reliable and many of the works are already lost.
