In addition, the islands northwest of Grenada in the Lesser Antilles are called the Barlovento Islands, or Windward Islands in English, because they are blessed with the trade winds, and the islands off the coast of Venezuela are called the Sotavento Islands (meaning leeward), or Leeward Islands in English. ...
