A mountain range stretching from northeast to southwest along the border with Switzerland in eastern France. It is a folded mountain range formed by the Alpine orogeny, and its geology is mainly composed of Mesozoic limestone and sandstone, and its Jurassic period is named after it. Its total length is about 250 km, and its highest point is 1,723 m above sea level. Many of the local residents are engaged in agriculture and livestock farming. It is a cheese producing region.
