DCMU - DCMU

Japanese: DCMU - ディーシーエムユー

A urea herbicide. It stands for 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,1-dimethylurea, and is a typical photosynthesis-inhibiting herbicide. Its herbicidal action is slow to appear, and it is usually used as a soil treatment agent. In Japan, it is used to kill annual weeds in fields of cereals, beans, potatoes, mulberry, etc., as well as in tea and orchards. Herbicides in the same series as DCMU include Linuron (trade names Aphalon, Rorox), Siduron (trade name Dupassan), and Dimron (trade name Showron).

尿素系除草剤の一つ。3‐(3,4‐dichlorophenyl)‐1,1‐dimethylureaの略で，典型的な光合成阻害型除草剤である。殺草作用の発現はゆるやかで，普通土壌処理剤として用いられる。日本では，禾穀（かこく）類，マメ類，イモ類，クワなどの畑，茶園，果樹園などの一年生雑草の除草に用いられる。DCMUと同系列の除草剤として，リニュロン(商品名アファロン，ロロックス)，シデュロン(商品名デュパサン)，ダイムロン(商品名ショウロン)などが使用されている。
