Professor Ajari
〘 noun 〙 Buddhist term. 1. One of the five types of ajari and one of the three teachers involved in receiving ordination. A monk who instructs the proper etiquette at the time of receiving ordination. A teacher. Professor. [Five-part Vinaya, 16] 2. A person who leads the recipient into the esoteric Buddhist abbot's training hall and instructs them on the proper procedures, such as throwing flowers. A teacher.
