A left bank tributary of the Havel River in eastern Germany. It originates in the Lausitz Mountains on the border with the Czech Republic, flows north to the Spreewald marshes, and then passes through Lake Neuendorf, Lake Schwieroch, and Lake Müggelsee before flowing through the capital Berlin and joining the Havel River in Spandau in the west.
