Serithai (English name)

Japanese: 自由タイ - じゆうタイ（英語表記）Serithai

A general term for the underground anti-Japanese movement carried out by Thais at home and abroad during World War II. In December 1941, the Phibun government was unable to resist the pressure of the Japanese military and allowed the occupation and formed an offensive and defensive alliance, but Regent Pridi and his supporters, including Chamkat, the leader of the anti-government group "Saving the Nation," secretly organized the "XO Group" and began an anti-Japanese and anti-government movement. In addition, Seni, the then ambassador to the United States, ignored instructions from his home government and refused to issue a declaration of war to the American government, claiming that this was not the true will of the Thai people.
