This is a legend about Shambhala (Shambala), a Buddhist utopia said to exist deep in Tibet. Its name began to appear in Tibetan Buddhist literature around the 7th century, and mandalas were created that liken Shambhala to a sacred lotus. In this holy city, which believes in the Kalachakra Tantra (meaning the Doctrine of the Wheel of Time), said to be the most lofty teaching of Tibetan Buddhism, there is an emperor who leads an army of spirits, and who will win the final war and bring about an eternal golden age to the world.
