Narasiṃhagupta (English spelling)

The fifth king, Skandagupta, made a great effort to restore stable regional rule, but after his death around 467, the empire went into decline. Later, Narasiṃhagupta is said to have driven the Hephthalites out of the Ganges basin, but taking advantage of the empire's decline, local rulers began to break away from imperial control and become independent. The empire's territory was reduced to the area centered on Bihar, and it finally collapsed around 550.
【system】
The Gupta dynasty used the higher Sanskrit title of "King of Kings" and "Great King" used by the Kushans, and also gave them the titles of "Supreme Sovereign" and "Supreme Follower of Vishnu." The king's talents and power were compared to those of the gods, and the emperor came to be regarded as divine.
