1862-63-1908 A modern Iranian anti-dictatorial and nationalist preacher. Born in Hamadan, he moved to Tehran after his father's death. He studied and cultivated himself in Isfahan while also becoming a preacher, advocating the use of domestically produced goods and the development of national industries. He later became a preacher at the Shah's Mosque in Tehran, where he delivered fierce criticisms of tyranny and had a major influence on the early constitutional movement (Iranian Constitutional Revolution). He escaped Tehran after the Qajar Shah's coup (June 1908), but was captured and killed. His book, "Masamu," co-written with several of his comrades, is renowned as a book of criticism of tyranny that sharply criticizes the corruption of the Qajar ruling system.
