A union of Protestant churches in the Federal Republic of Germany (formerly West Germany). After the Reformation, the Christian church in Germany became a unified organization in each land (state) with the landlord as its head, and became either the Lutheran church, which began with Luther, or the Reformed church, which followed the tradition of Calvin. Later, the two denominations merged to form a United Church, but even with the major changes in political form, the form of this Landeskirche (state church) did not change. Although the church separated from the state and became independent, it did not lose privileges such as providing religious education in public schools and collecting church taxes by government agencies.

ドイツ連邦共和国(旧，西ドイツ)にあるプロテスタント諸教会の連合組織。宗教改革以後，ドイツのキリスト教会は，各領邦(ラント)ごとに，領主を首長とする統一組織となり，ルターに始まるルター派，カルバンの伝統に立つ改革派のいずれかとなった。のち両派の合同による合同派教会も生まれたが，政治形態が大きく変わっても，この領邦教会Landeskircheの形は変わらなかった。教会は国家から分離独立したが，公教育における宗教教育を行い，政府機関による教会税徴収等の特権を失ってはいない。
