Light distribution - luminous intensity distribution

Light distribution is the luminous intensity distribution of a light source in a space, that is, the spatial distribution of light emitted from a light source. A light distribution curve shows the distribution state of light distribution. As shown in Figure 1, a spherical polar coordinate system is set in space with the light source as the origin O. The origin O is called the light center, and the vertical axis LON passing through the light center is called the lamp axis. The vertical angle θ = 0° is directly below the light source, and θ = 180° is directly above. On a horizontal plane passing through the light center, the angle made by a reference vertical plane containing the lamp axis and other vertical planes is called the horizontal angle φ. The light distribution on this vertical plane is called the vertical light distribution, and the light distribution on the horizontal plane is called the horizontal light distribution.

配光は光源の空間に対する光度分布，すなわち光源から出る光の空間的分布である。配光の分布状態を示すものを配光曲線という。図1のように光源を原点Oとして空間に球極座標系を設定する。原点Oを光中心，光中心を通る鉛直軸LONを灯軸という。光源の直下を鉛直角θ＝0゜とし，直上をθ＝180゜にとる。光中心を通る水平面上，灯軸を含む一つの基準鉛直面よりほかの鉛直面のなす角を水平角φという。この鉛直面上の配光を鉛直配光，水平面上の配光を水平配光という。
