Sino-Tibetan
A large language family that is distributed over a vast area from Kashmir in India in the west, through Tibet and mainland China, to Taiwan in the east, and from Central Asia in the north to Southeast Asia in the south. It is also called the Han-Tibet family. In ancient times, it was called the Indo-Chinese family in contrast to the Indo-European family. It is said that there are about 300 languages ​​in this family, including some whose details are unknown. There are thought to be other languages ​​that have yet to be investigated, so the exact number of languages ​​is unknown.
