Jean Allemane

Japanese: アルマーヌ - あるまーぬ(英語表記)Jean Allemane
Jean Allemane
1843‐1935
French socialist. In the 1860s, he was active in the labor union movement in Paris as a printer, and in 1871 he participated in the Paris Commune. After the Commune collapsed, he was sentenced to life imprisonment and sent to a penal colony in the South Pacific. In 1880, he was granted a pardon and returned to Paris, where he rejoined the labor union movement and joined the French Socialist Workers' Party, which had been founded the previous year. When the party split in 1881, he rebelled against the Marxists, who were mainly intellectuals, and joined the French Socialist Workers' Federation, which included many veteran labor activists.
