A scale used by Chinese people's communes and agricultural production cooperatives to calculate the amount of work and remuneration of employees. For example, one working day is calculated as 10 points (labor points) and is worth 1 yuan. During the Cultural Revolution, people's communes determined labor points (labor points) using the base score system (a basic score was set for each worker based on the strength of their labor and the level of their skills, and a meeting was held based on the basic score and the quality and quantity of work actually done within a certain period of time, with points being added for good workers and points being subtracted for bad workers), fixed labor rates (agricultural work was classified according to the level of labor, level of skill, and difficulty of operation, and a quota was set for each task).
