The correct name for this suit is an anti -G suit. It is a tight-fitting, trouser-like garment with an airbag on the inside, worn by crew members of fighter jets and other aircraft that make sudden movements. When an aircraft makes a sudden turn or pulls up, the acceleration caused by centrifugal force acts from the crew member's head to their feet, which can reach 7 G or more in a fighter jet. ( G or g is a unit of acceleration based on the gravitational acceleration of 9.8 m/ ^s2 . The acceleration itself is sometimes abbreviated to G. ) Although there are individual differences between people, when a force of about 6 G is applied from the head to the feet, blood does not flow sufficiently to the brain, causing symptoms such as blackouts, in which the eyes become temporarily blind.

正しくはanti‐G‐suit，耐G服と呼ぶ。内側に気囊を付けたぴったりしたズボン状の衣服で，急激な運動をする戦闘機などの乗員が着用する。飛行機が急激な引起しや旋回をすると，遠心力による加速度が乗員の頭から足の方向にかかり，戦闘機では7G以上になることがある(Gまたはgは重力加速度9.8m/s²を単位とした加速度の単位。加速度自身をGと略称することもある)。人間は個人差があるものの，頭から足の方向へ6Gくらいかかると，脳に十分血液が行かなくなり，一時的に目が見えなくなるブラックアウトなどの症状を示す。
