...The dye used is indocyanine green, which is non-toxic and resistant to chemical and optical changes. At the recording site, blood is drawn into a small, thin container (cell) called a cuvette at a constant rate, and the dye dilution curve is continuously recorded using a photoelectric colorimeter equipped with a color filter. There is also a simple method (earpiece method) in which the earlobe is used as a cell and the changes after passing through the earlobe are observed.
