Mausoleum of the First Emperor - Shi-huang-ling
The tomb of the First Qin Emperor, located about 5 km east of Lintong County, Shaanxi Province, China. The two-tiered square mound measures 345 m east to west, 350 m north to south, and 43 m high. There are two walls surrounding the mound, the inner wall measures 578 m east to west and 684.5 m north to south, and has gates on three sides: east, west, and north. The outer wall is rectangular, measuring 974.2 m east to west and 2,173 m north to south, with the remains of a gate on the east side and a width of 12.2 m. Tile fragments, burnt soil, and ash have been found. Six rows of ceramic water pipes were found in the center of the western wall of the outer wall, running under the wall. Architectural remains have been found in the northern part of the inner wall, including rammed earth. A large pit of terracotta warriors and horses was discovered on the east side of the First Emperor's Mausoleum, and many huge warrior and horse figures were excavated. It was registered as a World Heritage Site in 1987.
