From Kawatana [Hot Springs]

...Sodium bicarbonate salt spring, 36-43℃. Located 2km east of Kawatana Onsen Station on the Sanin Main Line, at the foot of the Onigajo mountain range, it was protected by the Chofu Domain as the only hot spring in its domain during the Edo period. It is recorded that there were already nine bathhouses in 1610 (Keicho 15), and a teahouse was also built for the domain lord.
