Japanese: JR総連 - ジェーアールそうれん

Its official name is the All Japan Railway Workers' Union Confederation. It is an affiliated union of the federation. Following the division and privatization of the Japanese National Railways, the All Japan Railway Workers' Union (Railway Workers' Union) was formed in February 1987 by the Doro (established in 1951), the Tetsuro (established in 1968), the Nippon Steel Workers' Union (established in 1986), and the Railway Employees' Union (established in 1987). After that, each union was dissolved and a union was formed for each of the new JR companies, such as West Japan, Central Japan, Hokkaido, and Shikoku, and in August 1987 it held a regular convention and became a new union. In June 1989, the official name was changed to the current All Japan Railway Workers' Union Confederation, and the abbreviation was changed to JR Soren.

正称は全日本鉄道労働組合総連合会。連合の加盟組合。国鉄の分割･民営化を契機として，1987年2月に動労(1951年結成)，鉄労(68年結成)，日鉄労(86年結成)，鉄道社員労(87年結成)が，全日本鉄道労働組合(鉄道労連)を結成した。その後，各組合が解散し，西日本，東海，北海道，四国など，JRの各新会社ごとに組合を結成し，87年8月に定期大会を開いて新たな単産となった。そして89年6月には，正称を現在の全日本鉄道労働組合総連合会に，略称をJR総連と改称した。
