A former town in Hazu District facing Mikawa Bay in the southern part of Aichi Prefecture. The Hazu mountain range blocks northwest winds, making it warm, and mandarin orange cultivation is thriving here. The coast is rich in bays, and it is part of the Mikawa Bay Quasi-National Park. There are many tourist spots, such as Mt. Sangan, and the Meitetsu Gamagori Line runs through it. In April 2011, it was incorporated into Nishio City along with Isshiki Town and Kira Town in Hazu District. 26.05 km2 . Population: 12,365 (2010).
