JR Tozai Line - JR Tozai Line

Japanese: JR東西線 - ジェーアールとうざいせん

This 12.5km line runs underground from Kyobashi Station on the Katamachi Line through Osaka city to Amagasaki Station on the Tokaido Main Line. It belongs to the Kansai Rapid Railway and is operated by JR West as a Class 2 railway business. It opened in March 1997, and trains run directly to the Katamachi Line (nicknamed the Gakkentoshi Line) at Kyobashi, and to the Tokaido Main Line (nicknamed the JR Kobe Line) and Fukuchiyama Line (nicknamed the JR Takarazuka Line) at Amagasaki, making it a new urban transport line that cuts through the heart of Osaka.
