Japanese: 伊能図 - いのうず

This is the common name for the "Complete Survey of the Japanese Coastline," which was created as a project of the Edo Shogunate, led by Ino Tadataka. It was completed in 1821. Treating the Earth as a sphere, the survey was highly accurate, focusing on astronomical observations and measuring distances and directions. There are over 300 sheets covering the whole of Japan. It is divided into large, medium and small maps, with the large map being at a scale of 1:36,000. It includes detailed information such as coastlines, roads, shrines and temples, and villages. Philipp Franz von Siebold brought a copy back with him (the Siebold Incident) and introduced it to Europe, where it was highly praised. It became the basis for the creation of various modern maps of Meiji Japan.

伊能忠敬を中心として江戸幕府の事業として作成された《大日本沿海実測輿地全図》の通称。1821年完成。地球を球体として扱い，測量は天文観測と距離・方位の測定を主とし精度は高い。日本全土で300余葉。大・中・小に分かれ，大図は縮尺３万6000分の１。海岸線，道路，社寺，村落など詳細。シーボルトが写しを持ち帰り（シーボルト事件），ヨーロッパに紹介，高い評価を得た。明治日本の各種近代的地図作製の根拠となった。
