This is the diary of Konoe Nobutada, a court noble from the Azuchi-Momoyama period and the early Edo period. It consists of the Hinamiki diary from 1592 (Bunroku 1) to 1606 (Keicho 11) and 11 supplementary entries starting with "Hashiba Hideyoshi's Kanpaku-no-Sensho" from 1585 (Tensho 13). There are many missing years and the articles are generally brief, but it is a valuable historical source on politics and literature from the Tensho to Keicho periods, and the section that describes the circumstances leading up to Emperor Yozei's abdication in 1610 due to the various restrictions imposed by the Edo Shogunate is particularly important. The Yomei Bunko holds 19 original books, 8 volumes, and 4 papers. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
