Born: Around 1480 in Brescia [Died] After 1548. Venice? Italian painter. After studying in Florence, he was mainly active in Venice. Influenced by Giorgione, he created portraits of fantastical scenes with motifs from the Bible and mythology. His works include "Portrait of Gaston de Foy" (Louvre Museum) and "Illusion of St. Matthew" (Metropolitan Museum of Art).
