Safrole

5-(2-propenyl)-1,3-benzodioxole. _{C 10} H ₁₀ O ₂ (162.19). One of the essential oil components, found in sassafras oil and daikon radish oil. A colorless or pale yellow liquid with a sassafras oil-like fragrance. Melting point 11°C, boiling point 233°C. 1.105-1.108. 1.536-1.540. Used in soap fragrances, etc. Toxic. _{LD 50} 1950 mg/kg (rat, oral). [CAS 94-59-7]
