Born August 1, 1876. Adopted son of Kawajiri Hokin. Contributed records of forms and discussion of the art to "Kabuki" led by Miki Takeji, and later wrote for "Engei Gaho" and other publications. Became head of the auditor's office at the Tokyo Kabukiza in 1925. Died December 14, 1954, aged 78. Born in Tokyo. Graduated from Commercial School. His given name was Yoshitoyo.
