Pokey-hokey (English spelling)

...They like children and horses, and are believed to comb their manes and kidnap bad children. In the past, nurses would lull children to sleep by telling them, "The goblin is coming to eat you." In Anglian children's language, they are called Pokey-hokey. Hobgoblins, a related species, are mischievous but good house spirits that help with household chores.
