A 2nd-century Greek author who imitated the epistolary style of Lucian and took New Comedy as his subject matter, using letters written by people of various classes in 4th-century Athens (fishermen, peasants, parasites, prostitutes, etc.) to create humorous portrayals of the everyday lives of ordinary people of his time.
