A tuberculosis sanatorium. In the past, air rest therapy was the mainstream method of tuberculosis treatment, so they were established in places with good air, such as on plateaus, in the mountains, or on the seashore. However, with the development of chemotherapy, tuberculosis became curable in a short period of time, and the number of tuberculosis patients decreased, so the size of sanatoriums has been shrinking. Today, many sanatoriums have been converted into sanatoriums for treating neurological and mental disorders.
