Abnormal wave - Ijyouha

...The absorption of shortwave radio waves in the D region of the ionosphere is most pronounced (Dillinger phenomenon). The movement of electrons in the ionosphere is influenced by the Earth's magnetic field and has the property of rotating counterclockwise (left-handed) relative to the magnetic field direction, so radio waves that enter the ionosphere are divided into two types of radio waves with different propagation properties, called normal waves (left-handed) and abnormal waves (right-handed).
