In computers, the actual physical structure of the hardware is converted into a logical structure that is convenient for the user who writes the program by using an appropriate conversion mechanism. This concept has led to the generalization and standardization of computers that are realized using specific hardware. A virtual memory is a storage device that is made up of a high-speed main storage device with a limited capacity and a low-speed auxiliary storage device with a large capacity, and is virtualized so that it appears to be made up only of the high-speed main storage device with almost no capacity limit.
