According to legend, Prince Satuk of the Kara-Khanid dynasty embraced Islam as a boy, and at the age of 25, he led a group of Muslim warriors, centered around 50 subordinates he had converted himself, and conquered the pagan land of Kashgar, one of the capitals of the Kara-Khanid dynasty, and established an Islamic government there, promoting the conversion of the nomadic Turks to Islam.
