Scorpio (Scorpio) - Scorpio (English spelling)

Scorpio (Scorpio) - Scorpio (English spelling)
Its abbreviation is Sco. It is known as a string of stars that forms a large S-shape in the Milky Way in the summer sky, and is one of the zodiac signs. In Greek mythology, it is shaped like the scorpion that stung Orion to death. The alpha star Antares is a red supergiant star of spectral type M1 with a magnitude of 1.0, and is 140 light years away, with a diameter about 300 times that of the Sun. It has a companion star 2.9 cm away with a magnitude of 5 and spectral type B4, and they are a visual binary star with a period of 853 years. The name Antares comes from Ant + Ares, which means "against Mars," and comes from the fact that when Mars is at opposition in this constellation in the summer, this star and Mars compete with each other for the reddest color.
