An Iron Age culture (1st century BC to 5th century AD) found in the central Yenisei River basin in southern Siberia. It was named after a tomb on the Tashtyk River near the village of Bateni in the Yenisei River basin. There are burial mounds and underground tombs, and cremated bones are found. The culture's bearers were a mixture of Caucasian and Mongoloid, unlike the Caucasian Tagar culture. Grave goods include white clay death masks and various types of pottery, as well as silk textiles, lacquerware, Han-style mirrors, and umbrellas, which indicate trade with China.
