Local - Zaichi
〘 noun 〙 (also "zaiji") 1. To be in a certain place. Also, the people who live in that place, and the land where they live. ※Toji documents - Rites, Engi 20th year (920), September 11th, Minister of the Right Fujiwara Tadashi Heike's letter: "Since the 12th year of the Jowa era, the official documents have been issued to the local provinces, and the transfer of the law has been completed." ※Heiji (around 1220): "The two heads were placed on pieces of wood and given to the local people who had fought in the war ." 2. (As opposed to the capital) A rural area. A place of residence. A place of residence. ※Kotohira Honpōgen (around 1220 ): "This is because it was heard that the local people had put the judge on a boat yesterday and sent him off to Minoura."
