Kyuragi [town] - Kyuragi
A former town in Higashi Matsuura County in central Saga Prefecture. The Karatsu Line runs through it. The central settlement developed as a coal mining town in the Karatsu coalfields, but with the decline of the coal industry, light industry was attracted. The town produces mandarin oranges, rice, tea, and highland vegetables. In January 2005, it was incorporated into Karatsu City along with Hamatama Town, Ochi Town, Hizen Town, Chinzei Town, Yobuko Town, and Kitahata Village in Higashi Matsuura County. 61.15 km2 . 5,772 people (2003).
